about

Cut from the Flying Alone album for its overly personal content, Alan Dunham wrote “The Guy We Used To Know” for his father, a Korean War vet who suffered from PTSD after losing his best friend in combat. “I always knew something wasn’t right with my father,” Dunham remarked. Alan unburdens the weight of his dad’s distraught gaze and emotional outbursts on a simple sound-on-sound six-string. Affected, our Melbourne friends Good Morning offered up this tender cover, accentuated with a minimal xylophone melody that delicately and sweetly breaks your heart.
